When we use passive language (he said that and he “MADE” me angry) it’s so easy to get stuck in a reaction to something, felling quite justified in that reaction.
It’s a process I call the 4 R’s. Something happens and you React, then you Replay the situation, the third R is where you Rehearse the story, ready for the 4th “R” where you Recite the story to someone else, or yourself.
This unconscious pattern is another way that we feed the stress and fatigue cycle. It’s often something we’ve unconsciously trained ourselves to do over time.
Using the right approach we can retrain this habit, along with lots of others that cause us stress and fatigue.
